Music Students Win Vocal Competition

A group of Catawba Valley Community College music students competed recently at the annual National Association of Teachers of Singing vocal competition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. One of the most prestigious musical theater vocal competitions in the state, it is attended by students from state universities and private colleges.
Jennifer Canterbury won first place in sophomore women’s musical theater. Tad Fulbright, who is also a Challenger Early College High School student, won second place among high school men.  They each were awarded a cash prize.

Nathan Hull, Davey Huffman and Sylvester Stroud all scored in the superior-excellent ranges.

All five students are members of CVCC’s Singular Sensation Show Choir.
