Two CVCC students were recently honored by the Newton- Conover Rotary Club for their academic achievements and community service. CVCC Rotaract Vice-President and nursing student MacKenzie Houser was honored with a $500 scholarship in memory of Dr. John F. Sinnett, a long-time Newton physician and a Rotary District 7670 Governor.
CVCC Rotaract President and criminal justice student Jared Broome was honored for his leadership on the club’s 2013 Salvation Army campaign. He coordinated a team of students that helped the Newton-Conover Rotarians raise the most money in a single day during the season.
