Want to Get a Head Start in the Job Market? Apply for the 2014-15 Student Leadership Academy!

The SLA is a uCatawba Valley Community College Student Leadership Academynique opportunity to help CVCC students with leadership potential grow as current and future leaders in every area of their lives, from home to church activities, to civic activities, to the world of work.

If you are selected for the Academy, you will identify your own leadership traits and style while developing skills in these areas (and others) as well: Conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, decision-making, communication, leadership ethics, team building and collaboration, and dealing with difficult people — areas in which leaders must be strong to be successful!

You will also engage in an internship under a proven leader on campus, design and participate in a service learning project, attend our annual Student Leadership Symposium, prepare a professional portfolio, and be recognized on Awards Day.

If you are interested in applying, you may self-nominate or be nominated by a faculty or staff member and complete an application. All of the necessary forms are on the CVCC Web site at www.cvcc.edu/Student_Leadership. Application deadline is Thursday, September 25.
