CVCC Offers Substitute Teacher Credential

Catawba Valley Community College is offering an EDU 275 Effective Teacher Training course online beginning in November. Successful completion earns the credential to become a substitute teacher for Hickory City or Alexander County Schools.

The online format is ideal for individuals who work.

Developmental level reading and English courses are a prerequisite to enrolling, unless you have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree.

The course begins November 12 and ends December 17. The cost is $171.25, plus a required textbook. The enrollment process must be completed by Oct. 29 in order to take the class.

Those interested in taking EDU 275 this fall need to visit the Student Services Office on the CVCC Main Campus in Hickory as soon as possible to complete the application for admission, placement testing, and registration processes.  No appointment is required.  Visit www.cvcc.edu/Student_Services/admissions/ for office hours.
