Hickory Woman’s Club Scholarships Awarded Through CVCC Foundation Inc

HICKORY WOMAN’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED THROUGH CVCC FOUNDATION, INC. The Hickory Woman’s Club recently presented two Catawba Valley Community College students with a scholarship through the CVCC Foundation, Inc.

Molly A. Peeler of Hickory is studying latent evidence in the college’s Criminal Justice Department. A 2011 graduate of St. Stephens High School, she is treasurer of the Computer Information Security Systems Club and Membership Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She is also president of the Criminal Justice Club. She plans to transfer to Champlain College to earn a bachelor’s degree and work for the FBI.

Courtney D. Horne of Hickory is completing prerequisite courses in anticipating of applying to CVCC’s radiography program. The single mother of two daughters, Horne decided to return to college to set an example for her children. She volunteers with her church and works part time.
