Lowe’s (Home Improvement) Buchan Retired Employees Group recently presented a scholarship to Catawba Valley Community College student Brittany Reed through the CVCC Foundation, Inc.
Reed is enrolled in the entrepreneurship associate degree program and will graduate next May. She plans to continue studies at CVCC in order to earn an associate degree in business administration so she can help expand her mother’s business.
She is a member of the college’s SkillsUSA chapter and won state and national championships last year as a member of the Entrepreneurship Team. She is an active member of the Emerging Entrepreneurs Club and received CVCC’s President’s Scholarship and the Hickory Young Professionals Future Young Leaders Scholarship.
Reed works at Belk and is a nanny to three children. She is active at New Life Baptist Church Fellowship in Claremont where she participated in a mission trip to Uganda last year. A 2013 graduate of Bunker Hill High School, she is the daughter of Todd and Tina Reed of Catawba.
