Catawba Valley Community College’s Early Childhood Education Department will hold an open house Tues., Oct. 28, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., in Room 216 of the Robert E. Paap Building on the main campus in Hickory.
Attendees will learn about various early childhood educational opportunities offered by the college. In addition to a two year associate degree for those pursuing credentials to work in child development and public schools, CVCC also offers a diploma that can be completed in four semesters. A school-age certificate and infant/toddler care certificate can each be completed in two semesters. Faculty will be on hand to answer questions about requirements for enrolling and options for completing the credentials as a full-time or part-time student.
Three newly updated model classroom spaces will also be available for touring. Two classrooms are dedicated to adult learning and one is a demonstration classroom for teaching practice.
