CVCC Dental Hygiene Students Volunteer at Missions of Mercy Event

Catawba Valley Community College Dental Hygiene students and faculty recently provided free hygiene services to the underserved on during the Mission of Mercy project in Winston Salem held last month at the Convention Center.

The students joined around 400 dentists and 500 volunteers that serve about 1,000 patients over the course of the two-day event. Dental procedures are done by volunteer dentists and dental students from Chapel Hill.

CVCC’s entire second-year hygiene class participated along with faculty member Dr. John Davis, Connie Preiser, Grace Cortney and Lisa Campbell.
