Catawba Valley Community College’s Workforce Development Innovation Center will offer ServSafe® Manager Training and Certification on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning January 20 through January 29 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at CVCC’s East Campus.
North Carolina regulations require all establishments to have a manager on duty that is ServSafe® certified. This regulation applies to hotels and motels with continental breakfast areas as well as traditional restaurants and food vendors. A company that is found to be non-compliant may be required to pay a costly fine as experience a loss of points on its sanitation grade.
The ServSafe® program helps prepare you for the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification exam. Training covers these concepts:

- Good Personal Hygiene
- Time and Temperature Control
- Preventing Cross-Contamination
- Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Safe Food Preparation
- Receiving and Storing Food
- Methods of Thawing, Cooking, Cooling and Reheating Food
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
- Food Safety Regulations

Individuals must pre-register for the class by Tuesday, December 23. The cost of registration is $167 and includes 6th edition book and answer sheet.
