Cynthia Bringle is a ceramic artist, known as one of America’s pre-eminent potters and a renowned teacher whose influence stretches around the globe. Bringle teaches at the prestigious Penland School of Crafts, and works out of her home studio, Bringle Pottery in Penland, N.C.
Bringle’s work represents more than forty years of functional stoneware; she is a fellow of the American Craft Council and a recipient of the North Carolina Award for Fine Art. Her work is comprised in many private and public collections around the world, including the Mint Museum of Craft and Design, Burlington Art Centre, the High Museum of Art, the White House, and the Smithsonian International traveling exhibition.
Bringle will speak on the Penland tradition. The lecture will be held in the CVCC East Wing Auditorium at 2550 Hwy. 70 SE in Hickory.
