Enrique’s Journey Book Read Presentation: Prudencia’s Journey: A Parallel Perspective

Book cover Enrique's JourneyEnglish faculty member Susannah Blanchard will present “Prudencia’s Journey: A Parallel Perspective,” on Wed.,  Jan. 28 in the EW Auditorium from noon to 1 p.m.

Blanchard will be discussing another immigrant’s journey as a means to examine the history of US legislation and actions in Central America which led to destabilized governments. The presentation will provide insight into how this created the widespread, violent circumstances from which people flee to find a better life in the US.

Prudencia Martin Gomez was originally from Todos Santos, Guatemala. She left Guatemala in 2007 to come to the US and join her fiance Ismael who was living in California. She is of no relation to Enrique other than that they both fled the violence in their countries of origin to come to the United States.
