CVCC’s Circle K International Chapter Wins District Awards

Circle K District Convention 2015 ImageCatawba Valley Community College’s Circle K International chapter earned a number of awards during the District Convention of the Carolinas held recently in Greenville, S.C.
Catawba Valley Community College’s Circle K International chapter earned a number of awards during the District Convention of the Carolinas held recently in Greenville, S.C. 
 
CVCC students excelled among their peers from participating four-year schools, including North Carolina State University, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC-Wilmington, Wake Forest University, Duke University, College of Charleston, USC-Aiken, and Lenoir Rhyne University. 

·     Led by faculty advisor, Joann Buehler, the CVCC Circle K chapter earned the following awards:
·       Most Improved Club
·       Club Achievement for highest amount of club service hours
·       Traditional Scrapbook 
·       Single Service Project  
·       T shirt
·       Distinguished Vice President-Damalis Caraballo
·       Distinguished Treasurer-Shea Decoteau
·       Interclub  
Circle K chapter members in attendance included Katie Musselman, Blue Ridge Division Lieutenant Governor; Aaron Moser, CVCC Circle K Chapter President; Damalis Caraballo, Chapter Vice President of Service; Walter Melgar, Chapter Vice President of Membership and Education; Shea Decoteau, Treasurer; members Abigail Reyes and Genesis Reyes-Solval; and Faculty Advisor and CVCC Faculty Member JoAnn Buehler.
 
Circle K International (CKI) is an international collegiate service organization that is a sponsored leadership program of Kiwanis International. With more than 12,600 members promoting service, leadership and fellowship, it is the largest service organization on college campuses in the world. Many CVCC Circle K members transfer to four-year institutions and remain active in Circle K, continuing in leadership capacities.
