Catawba Valley Community College student Katelyn Lambert recently received the 2015 President’s Award. The honor is awarded for outstanding scholarship, leadership and college and community service.
A resident of Taylorsville, Lambert graduated this spring with an Associate of Arts degree and plans to attend Appalachian State University next fall to complete a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
She graduated from Alexander Central High School Class where she served as Student Council vice president.
She served as the 2014-15 president of CVCC’s Student Government Association and vice president of the 2013-14 SGA. She was selected for and completed the Student Leadership Academy this spring.
Lambert received a Rotaract Emerging Leader Scholarship and was named Student of the Semester fall 2014. She works at Catawba Valley Medical Center as an anesthesia technician and SouthSide Power & Fitness in Hickory.
Lambert earned an associate of music degree from West Lenoir Baptist School of Ministry and is an active member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Hiddenite where she is a member of the choir, youth ministry, and vacation Bible School music instructor.
She is the daughter of Thomas and Joyce Lambert of Taylorsville.
