CVCC Offers Adult High School in New Online Format

CVCC Adult Secondary Education Certification 2014Catawba Valley Community College’s Adult High School Program will soon be offered in a 100 percent online format for the convenience of students. And, there is no fee.

This convenient new distance learning option will be available beginning July 6. Computer labs on campus will be staffed at advertised hours to also provide students with an opportunity for personalized instruction.

The new online format accommodates more students, and allows them to work toward their diploma on their schedule at their pace. There are no required class days. Students are also able to work on assignments in CVCC’s Adult High School computer lab during set hours.Orientation for new students will be held July 6, noon to 1 p.m. and July 23, 7 to 8 p.m.

A new series of classes starts every two weeks.

To qualify for the online format, students must present an official high school transcript.

Individuals interested in enrolling in the online format are encouraged to schedule official transcripts and assessment/advising appointments in June and July. Contact Tina Fredell at 828-327-7000, ext. 4353, to schedule an advising appointment to get started.
