CVCC’s Vickie Vinson Named Coordinator of Adult Basic Education

Vickie Vinson ImageVickie Vinson was recently named coordinator of Adult Basic Education for Catawba Valley Community College.

Vinson served as a compensatory education instructor for Catawba Valley Community College at the CVCC Alexander Center for Education for the past five years teaching adults with intellectual disabilities. She was responsible for increasing enrollment in the program 200 percent.

Prior to her joining CVCC, she served as a child care resource and referral coordinator for the Alexander County Partnership for Children for nine years as well as in a number of positions in human resources, financial and medical office management.

A resident of Taylorsville, Vinson is a graduate of Appalachian State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology.
