Sabrina Pinard of Lake Norman Charter School signs with the Red Hawks

Sabrina Pinard ImageSabrina Pinard of Lake Norman Charter School in Huntersville, NC signed last week to play volleyball this fall at Catawba Valley Community College.  Present for the signing were parents Christine and David Pinard, her brothers, Athletic Director Matt Schlegel, Lake Norman Charter School Head Coach Bethany Kiley, CVCC Head Coach Shannon Hudson and CVCC Assistant Coach Mark Wimberley.

In her senior year as a Knight, Sabrina led her team to a 17-6 finish and the third round of the state playoffs.  Coach Kiley gave a brief presentation at the signing and boasted about Sabrina’s versatility.  “You don’t usually see a 6’1” hitter who can play defense as well.”   Sabrina also plays for Lake Norman 18’s Select under club coach Victoria Arrington.

“We are so excited to add Sabrina to our roster for this fall,” comments Coach Hudson.  “Her size and experience are going to be invaluable assets for our team.”

Sabrina was two time player of the match for the Knights and also won the team’s Most Valuable Player Award.  Sabrina excels in the classroom and served as Junior Marshall and maintained A/B honor roll all 4 years of high school and was awarded the “Leadership Award”.

Sabrina plans to transfer to UNC Chapel Hill after completing her Associate in Science degree from Catawba Valley.
